Outrageous Architecture

Do you consider yourself to be a person who has a flair for the dramatic? Would you stay home in your Toronto condominium and watch Ripley's Believe or Not instead of going out to party because you had to see what weird and unusual things would be done on the show? Well, then you've come to the right place as we will try to bring to you information about outrageous buildings around the world.

You wouldn't consider a typical commercial real estate Toronto building as anything original or exciting and this site wouldn't dare insult your intelligence by telling you about boring old apartment buildings. We know you're more interested in something like the Teapot Dome gas station located in Zillah, Washington. You might be saying to yourself, "really?" And, seriously, yes, there is a building shaped like a teapot. The gas station, built in 1922, was designed to look like a teapot to remind people of the Teapot Dome scandal that involved former U.S. President Warren G. Harding. The gas station has a conical roof on top of a circular frame with a teacup handle and spout, which are made out of sheet metal.

If you are a lover of books, then the next building we're about to tell you about is just for you. If you were to find yourself in Kansas City, Missouri, and in need of going to a library, you'd love to park your car in the Kansas City library parking lot that is built to create the illusion of a row of books. Resembling a bookshelf that you'd find in your very own home, this parking lot is a great homage to literary classics. A few of the books included that are part of the parking structure include such classic reads like Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. One cool unique feature of this structure is that the stairs are designed to look like books that lay on their sides. These gigantic book cover replicas may have you thinking about putting up your property in the next Brampton real estate listing.

The United States isn't the only place you can find some outrageous building structures. If you're looking for something international, then the Atomium in Belgium should satisfy your cravings. Especially if you're a fan of science and things made with a whole bunch of metal benders. Built in 1958, the Atomium is 335 feet tall and is made up of nine steel spheres that are all connected in the form of a unit cell of an iron crystal which is magnified 165 billion times. It might be time for you to get up and atom and into the next flight to Belgium to this scientific nature of beauty.

Hopefully some of the buildings we described to you here on this website were wild and zany enough for you. And don't worry, these are only a few examples that we have and as you keep searching our site, you'll find other zany structures from around the world. Maybe by reading about the buildings on our site, you'll be inspired to create your own realtor web design site and create some wacky buildings yourself. Or take a road trip to see these buildings live and in the flesh. It sure would be fun to see what the inside of a teapot looks like, wouldn't it?
